For some reason, the editors at Dark Horse sent me a script and a bunch of stats of Cam's original pencils for the first few pages of this story. They never explained why Cam wasn't working on it any more. I just heard something vague about him having gone back to Scotland to paint..?
I love Cam Kennedy's work. So it was a daunting prospect to have to follow in his footsteps. He'd made the Star Wars empire his own with all the excellent work he'd done!
I didn't want to copy his originals as that wouldn't have felt right - especially without his permission. So I tried to make the story my own - even though I don't like DarthVader as a character.
