RoboHunter

I am very flattered that John wrote RoboHunter specially with me in mind as the artist.

It's just a shame that the editors of the time weren't quite up to speed with the concept. And because I was busy with Judge Dredd on the Moon when they wanted to start running the series, they handed the task of doing the first few episodes to another artist, who's art they imagined would seamlessly blend with mine. (?) Ferrer is a fine artist. But I don't really think our styles are too similar. So it transpired that the editors, once they had the first few episodes drawn by him, went 'Ooops!! Ian!!! We have a problem. Can you fix it?'

So, in a very lame resolution to the situation, they 'allowed' me to do a brand new first two pages of the story. And then to a 'touch-up' job on the rest of Ferrer's pages to try to make the main characters at least look similar.

A dreadfully half-assed way to start a story. But Robohunter survived. And went on to bigger and better things for many years.
